Public Consultation on Internet Exchange Point (IXP)

An Internet Exchange Point (IXP) enables Internet Service Providers (“ISPs”) and operators of core Internet infrastructure (such as DNS root and top-level domain name servers) to exchange traffic with each other and interconnect. Due to continuous growth in the Internet eco-system as well as in overall Internet traffic it is of great benefit to a country to establish a local IXP particularly as transmission costs are reduced, performance improved and Internet service provision is enhanced through greater resiliency and robustness.
