Public Consultation in the 1980-2010 and 2170 – 2200 MHz Frequency Band for the Future Development of Terrestrial and Satellite components of IMT including Satellite IoT
Brief on the public consultations
TRA is currently reviewing the current and future use of the 1980-2010 and 2170 – 2200 MHz frequency band; with the aim of evaluating the current and potential future uses of radio services allocated in this frequency band and ensuring the optimal use of spectrum resources in order to meet the increasing demand for the required spectrum to provide various of current telecommunications services and emerging technologies.
The strategic objectives :
- Ensure efficient management of natural and national resources
- Develop a flexible and up-to-date regulatory environment and attractive for investment
- Enabling investment in innovative technologies and services
- Encouraging research and development.
Main pillars of the study:
- Keeping pace with the rapid development in radio communication technology
- Enhance the quality of communication services provided in Oman.
Deadline for submitting the responses:
Please send your responses and comments on the public consultation document on or before 25th of July 2024. TRA will review all received responses, considering that the TRA is not obligated to take into account all the contained comments in these responses.
