Launch of the Advanced Automated Spectrum Management System AASMS
The TRA launched the World’s Most Advanced Automated
Spectrum Management System (AASMS) on 6th April 2014. This is in continuation
of TRA endeavors to promote the level of e-services for spectrum users in Oman,
and in keeping abreast of the e-government policy. With the AASMS, it is
possible for all spectrum users to apply and process all types of radio
licensing services electronically through the online spectrum portal for radio
licensing services through which they can apply for all types of radio services
applications, pay all kinds of fees, save and print all electronic copies of
all documents. Certain services are fully automated from beginning of the
process up to the end without any needed intervention from TRA staff and it is
accessible 24/7.
The AASMS contributes to improved efficiency and
effectiveness of the daily work-flow in addressing all applications within a
short time, including the reduction of human errors. These leads to a higher
level of quality in the provision of services, proper planning of the spectrum
ensuring its optimal use and reducing possibilities of harmful interference
between users of frequencies that increases the regional competiveness of the
country.
